Lena Dunham Goes From Web Series to HBO Series

We’ve seen all different paths connecting web series to television. Shows like Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock created derivative web series, and web original shows like Web Therapy and now Broad City went the opposite direction- from web to TV.

Lena Dunham took her own path. The Oberlin graduate and NYC resident began her young career with the wit-drenched web series Delusional Downtown Divas and Tight Shots. She passed through SXSW with two features– one of which, a semi-biographical, self-deprecating comedy about post-graduate malaise shot on the Canon 7d, Tiny Furniture, won Best Narrative Feature. (And it’s now on Netflix.) She then ended up with her own series debuting on HBO in April. In, say, the span of two years.

Here are two sneak peaks of the upcoming HBO original series “Girls,” executive produced by a guy you may have heard of by the name of Judd Apatow. As in her previous projects, Dunham also stars.
