FX is currently developing a TV version of the comedy web series Broad City, created by and starring Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson as quirky best friends who are navigating the oddities and idiosyncrasies of Manhattan life. Amy Poehler will produce.
Glazer and Jacobson are both performers at New York’s Upright Citizens Brigade, founded by Poehler. The hilarious online series was developed separately from UCB but includes appearances from several familiar faces in NYC comedy, including Poehler. A series of offbeat musings, Broad City has tackled odes to Spike Lee and Woody Allen and also awkward subway encounters, street performances, the homeless, and dating.
