Oh, it’s on! Blip.tv now allows site visitors to subscribe to shows. Yes, that’s right.
Blip has been a favorite distribution portal for independent web series creators for some time because of its genuine focus on scripted independent web originals. This past year, Blip then re-designed itself to make it a better video viewing destination site. However, the one thing Blip didn’t have was that snarly little subscription button, a helpful tool when trying to stay notified of new episodes.
But ’tis no more.
You will now find a BLUE SUBSCRIBE BUTTON on each show page which links to your Facebook account. You will then get weekly email notifications of new episodes, but if you can’t wait that long, you can find all the notifications right in your Blip account after you log-in with Facebook. [For those who are wary of Facebook holding too much information about you, you might want to hold off for awhile.]
So, what do you subscribe to? After a few years of amassing some stellar shows, how on earth do you know what to pick? Well, Digital Chick TV put together a list of recommended shows to get you started! And just to keep Blip’s Head of Programming Eric Mortensen busy, make sure to tweet hashtag #ILoveBlip & the name of your favorite TV show and he’ll personally recommend a web series you’ll like from @bliptv. Forget Pandora and Netflix’s algorithms, Blip’s got an actual dude! Play!
