As regular DCTV visitors will have realized by now, I dig intelligent, character-driven, politically incorrect comedy. I have always felt the best comedy straddles the line of realism and absurdity. The idiosyncrasies and authenticity make it funnier to me!
Australian web comedy Bernie is a web show I’ve mentioned a bunch of times on DCTV as being one of my faves, so I was more than delighted to see the team at it again with a new female-centric sketch comedy show. If you’ve seen Bernie, then you know that creator Craig Anderson’s taste for humor is very original — his work is somehow both heartfelt and pure wrong, and Late Night Angel Weenie Baby is no different, as you may have construed from the name! The series explores the experiences of the modern woman through a sequence of random odd, hilarious, offensively fabulous sketches starring an ensemble of Australian comediennes. The first two episodes have been released with 4 more to be released each upcoming Sunday. Look for regular appearances by Bernie castmembers!
