IPF To Finance $1.4 million in 15 Scripted Web Series in 2011

For the second year in a row, Canada’s Independent Production Fund will be financing over one million dollars in dramatic web series. Last year’s program produced the critically acclaimed and adorable tween detective series Ruby Skye PI (written by Jill Golick and starring newcomer Madison Cheeatow) amongst other high-quality online productions.

Who made the cut this year? This year’s selections adjudicated by an international jury “based on content, production styles and processes, formats, business and promotion models, audience potential and revenue” included 9 English series and 6 French series, with fan favorite Ruby Skye PI receiving financing for a second season. Four other productions also received financing for second seasons including:

- French series 11 règles (which unfortunately is only available in Canada)

- French series Dakodak

– French kids series Juliette en direct
