YouTube, the home of the vlog, where anyone can get their opinion, talent (or lack thereof) heard. Typically, when one thinks of “Youtubers”, the label we toss to the likes of webtrepreneurs ijustine, Phillip DeFranco, Annoying Orange, and Shane Dawson, you start sliding your demographic down the age groups. The market is generally dominated by tweens, teens, and collegiates, who have managed to turn mouthing off into six digit figures. However, as we’ve been saying at DCTV for awhile, it aint just kids watching videos on the ‘net anymore.
In her weekly YouTube vlog, news executive Jeanine Hughes launches a satirical, lighthearted and intelligent look at some of the absurdities in political and current events, i.e. best selling book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother… and Tiger’s Mother, the Catholic Church’s new Iphone confession app, and the invention of fried beer. Not to be outcool’ed by the kids, she also shares some great music discoveries as well. She adds new videos each Wednesday.
