Not that we don’t love men or the fabulous boys nominated for the WGA Award for Writing in New Media, but we wouldn’t be Digital Chick TV if we didn’t point out that the first EVER award for Writing Original New Media went to two women screenwriters, Tina Cesa Ward and Susan Miller for the well-loved Anyone But Me! A great sign, eh?
Congratulations to Tina and Susan for your win, and congratulations to the fabulous, groundbreaking nominees Thom Woodley & Bob McClure & Matt Yeager for All’s Faire, Timothy Cooper for Concierge: The Series, and Gregory Storm for Madison Avery.
Creative Director Daryn Strauss contributed to the WGAE ceremony by writing a piece for the awards show program, along with Ocean’s Thirteen writer Brian Koppelman, American Splendor writer Shari Springer Berman, Dirty Dancing writer Eleanor Bergstein and Lights Out/ In Treatment showrunner Warren Leight.
