Blue Belle is a moody atmospheric drama surrounding a Santa Barbara high school English teacher, Blue Smith (Tessa Thompson) who secretly works as a high-class prostitute in Las Vegas on the weekends. Little does she know that she has developed a stalker in one of her students, troubled wheelchair-bound Marcus (Calvin Piljam). After Marcus steals her Vegas flight itinerary from her purse, his sexually charged friend Quinn (Michael Karman) realizes Marcus’s obsession with Ms. Smith exceeds the bounds of normal teen hormones, leading Marcus on a dark trip to Vegas to follow Blue.
Look for NYPD Blue star Sharon Lawrence who makes an appearance as Blue’s pot-smoking mother. The episodes run around 3 minutes each, with stunning cinematography, an eerie score, and subtle performances by a very strong cast. Blue Belle will keep you guessing as the mysterious double-life of Blue unravels over its 21-episode season.

Nice to see Tessa Thompson, who worked in a play of mine. And also, nice to see a teacher, a literate teacher at the center of this. Even tho she is a “Ho.”
